Texas CHL

While living in Texas, I held a CHL license.

Besides the obvious, it is worth mentioning here, as it is also called “the good guy card” in Texas – because you are not eligible unless you have a really squeaky-clean background.

Note: I am *not* a gun nut (!). As they say, “when in Rome, do as the Romans do”, and the same applies to Texas. Besides that, carrying a gun (well: two, a H&K .45 USP and a 9mm Kahr; 2002-2010) and wearing a bullet-resistant vest (2003-2008) was a work requirement for a while. It was an interesting experience, though, and one I would not want to miss. Texas is Texas – and this does most certainly not apply to Europe, and that is good so.
